Crystal Lake (2026) TV series official trailer released

After a short teaser for "Crystal Lake" was released about a month ago, the official trailer is now available.

Jason begins! Or... who was it again? Obviously, when a new film set in the "Friday the 13th" universe is released, horror geeks have to check it out. In this case it's an entire TV series by A24, depicting the events that happened between the tragic drowning of Pamela Voorhees' son Jason, and the re-opening of Camp Crystal Lake, as seen in the original 1980 movie.

The series is set to premiere on October 15th on Peacock TV, so we'll have to wait some more weeks to find out if it's really good - but the teaser and the trailer look quite promising. The editing of the trailer is awful, but otherwise the material looks surprisingly good. It appears someone put some effort into making this look like 70s footage, and it's a really good blend of modern high-resolution and oldskool celluloid blurriness and color grading, creating some nice atmosphere literally on first sight.

Obviously it remains to be seen if this series gets stuck in overly long whispered soap-opera dialogue, but there is definitely some potential here that it doesn't, and is actually a moody, spooky Jason-esque slasher watch.

See for yourself, here are both the teaser and the new official trailer:
